UK National Midland Wedding show

The National Wedding Fayre

19 Feb 2022 – 20 Feb 2022

Engaged couples are being given the chance to win their wedding and honeymoon at a major event being held at Ricoh Arena.

More than 10,000 love birds are expected to descend on Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena on Saturday 19 February and Sunday 20th February for the sixth edition of the The National Wedding Fayre with Perfect Brides and Your Wedding Live.

And among the 200-plus wedding exhibitors at the event is a prize that will see one couple land £20,000 worth of wedding prizes – including a reception venue, catering, suits, bride and bridesmaid dresses, a wedding car and an overseas honeymoon.

Couples can enter from 10am onwards on Saturday 19th February, and the winner will be drawn at 3pm on Sunday 20th February.

The show is set for its biggest ever attendance after Wayne Littlewood, from Coventry, launched the show at Ricoh Arena in 2013 which attracted around 2,000 visitors at the time – a figure that will more than increased by 5 times.

“Marriage is still the ‘in-thing’ for a lot of couples, as is proving with the growing popularity of the show,” said show organiser Wayne.

“February is a popular time for wedding fayres, as a lot of people get engaged over the Christmas period and suddenly turn their attention to setting a date and planning their big day.

“The year that couples get married is also of great significance, as it is meant to be a period that will stick with you for the rest of your life – and we have two big years coming up.

“2022 will be a popular year for weddings as it has a catchy sound about it and marks the end of a decade, while the year 2021 will be a big one for many couples as it evokes memories of when they turned 21.

“The wedding show at The Ricoh is one that thinks outside of the box when it comes to what is on offer to guests.

“We’ll have horse boxes that have been converted into champagne bars, VW wagons that are now picture booths, and even services such as teeth whitening and toast masters.

“More and more outdoor exhibitors are also attending the show to reflect demand for couples looking to put their own unique stamp on their big day – this could be giant outdoor games or having a range of Teepees for guests.

“I’ve had some very unusual requests to exhibit at the show too. One year I was approached by a divorce lawyer – which I politely declined – and another year we had an exhibitor offering donkey rides!

“The Ricoh Arena really has been the perfect fit for the show over the past few years, and there’s still so much more we can do in the future.”

Caroline Lissaman, Head of Event Management at Ricoh Arena, has witnessed the growth of the The National Wedding Fayre.

She added: “Ricoh Arena and The National Wedding Fayre has forged a strong relationship over the years.

“Wayne has developed extensive knowledge of what couples want from a show of this kind, while the venue’s convenient location and flexible facilities have provided him with a platform to grow the show year-on-year.”
